June's Down The Line Mixtape (for Signal Subscribers)

Dear faithful Signal supporters.

Welcome to your next installment of The Signal Mixtape…exclusively FOR YOU.  I am going to keep on with the direct download mixtape concept for this mix…avoiding the streaming services that not all of you have.

This month we have a compilation of rare tracks by The Rolling Stones.  One of my favorite bands of all time…who never quite mine their deep treasure of unreleased recordings the way they should.     But thankfully for us, the recordings seem to get out into the world anyway…and as you will hear on this tape, they are worth collecting.  This particular curated grouping is taken from two places.  The first is the legendary Black Box compilation, a 3CD collection of outtakes from the classic 60s and 70s Stones period.  The second is a series of CDs called Time Trip which covers….about the same time period…overlapping a little with the Black Box but featuring a ton of otherwise unreleased stuff.  I have included notes taken from these releases for ea…
