Having attended a zoom funeral of a friend’s brother today, I cannot stop thinking about the impact each life has on our world and how one life can make such a difference, leave such a legacy. Add to it the chaos of our time, the insane news we receive daily around politics, disease, fire, death…it just furthers this idea that we all have the ability to move from darkness to the light and bring each other along even when the lift seems to damn heavy.
It’s good to be “in it” with y’all.
The Velvet Underground Documentary, Directed by Todd Haynes, Is Coming to Apple TV+
There has been a lot of hype about this VU documentary including fervor around never before seen footage. ME? I am totally hyped. Ready to jump in. Who is inviting me over to mooch off of their Apple TV+?
Jacob Lawrence’s style is so iconic for the mid-century style that I grew up seeing adorned on relatives walls…..except Jacob took it so much farther around the political/social tensions found throughout the history of the country that he focused on. As usual, The New York Review of Books presents an incredible article about the artist. Also, in an interesting update, it was just announced that a lost Jacob Lawrence painting was found recently and is being hung in the exhibit (Article here).
