THE SIGNAL from David Katznelson
“We’re not allowed miracles...We traded them in for technology some years ago and now we’re stuck with finding out how things work.” ― R.A. MacAvoy
We live in strange times, so I guess it should not seem completely bonkers that in a time of scary national unrest and a major uptick of COVID cases and deaths, that this is the moment that the government is turning a focus onto…Unidentified Flying Objects. When my wife told me that baked deep into the stimulus package was a mandate for government agencies to report to congress…within 180 days…everything they know about UFOs I was sure she was pulling my leg.
But it is true. And the CIA has already offered up a huge amount of documents about UFOS and while there is not much revealed within them, there is enough to come to a more clear conclusion that there have been “events” that could very well be close encounters. And this is just the beginning, if agencies hold true to the mandate of the stimulus package’s demand for information…more should be coming.
I have read several articles about this new oddity in front of us but have yet to get intel about why now and why in the stimulus package. And then there is the reality that the head of the committee asking about UFO information is a total alien himself, Marco Rubio…the last person I could see having a serious conversation about spacemen with. How did he get that kinda cool Senatorial gig?
Yes, we live in strange times. I wonder what the aliens are thinking about our planet given the crap we have mired ourselves in as of recent times. If Sun Ra is sitting atop his perch on Saturn….is he be smiling knowing he was right all along?
JIMI HENDRIX IN MAUI: GOING FAR BEYOND RAINBOW BRIDGE
“We can’t think of any better person to ring in the new year…than Jimi Hendrix. A new documentary investigates the Hawaiian concert that became Rainbow Bridge, and corrects a misperception that Hendrix was losing his creative direction by being there. Richie Unterberger spoke with film director John McDermott about that event and Hendrix’s future plans and projects, all of which were cut short by his tragic death in September 1970.”

Beginning
By James Wright
The moon drops one or two feathers into the field.
The dark wheat listens.
Be still.
Now.
There they are, the moon's young, trying
Their wings.
Between trees, a slender woman lifts up the lovely shadow
Of her face, and now she steps into the air, now she is gone
Wholly, into the air.
I stand alone by an elder tree, I do not dare breathe
Or move.
I listen.
The wheat leans back toward its own darkness,
And I lean toward mine.
I've been intrigued by the whole Hendrix in Maui / Rainbow Bridge story since my college days, when I took a deep dive into Jimi's later catalog and posthumous releases (the good, bad, and ugly). Glad to see this included here - and nope, I haven't seen the new documentary just yet but looking forward to checking it out.
