I walked my dog in the rain this morning. It feels so good to feel the water as it comes on down, to see the mountains get drenched, especially after this past fire season. And I realize that we are in for trouble again in a mere six months (or less)…but I will take these showers now as the grassy landscape gets greener and and the plants all around the house are glistening and happy.
It is raining in the Bay Area…it is sunny in DC. And it feels so nice.
One of the big bonuses of searching for articles for this newsletter is finding sources that are surprisingly good on a regular basis. The Irish Times: they deserve some sort of journalistic reward, always offering not only compelling pieces that they alone are talking about, but great deep dives on topics that are trending: like this Bacon piece. I love Francis Bacon, what a giant. And the new biography is making waves…and the Irish Times nails it.

Leave it to the Flaming Lips to pull off the first safe (hopefully) live show of the Pandemic. Damn I wish I was there. The need for live music runs strong in my veins. And the idea of seeing a LIPS SHOW TOO!!!
